When to call us

Charging won’t start
The car is plugged in, but the charger won’t start charging, or stops after a few minutes.
Error code, red light
The charger shows an error code, flashes or lights up red, or the car reports an error while charging.
The breaker or RCD trips
The circuit breaker or RCD trips while charging. Measurements will find the cause.
Won’t connect to the app
The Wi-Fi, LAN or 4G connection drops, it doesn’t show up in the app, or the RFID card or OCPP doesn’t work.
Charges slowly
The charger charges at much lower power than expected, or only on one phase.
Damaged cable, connector, housing
The charging cable is kinked, the Type 2 connector is damaged, water got in or the housing is cracked, or the connection gets hot.

If the charger gets hot, sparks or smells burnt, stop using it: switch off its circuit breaker and call us.

How the repair works

  1. 1

    Fault intake by phone

You tell us the symptoms, the charger model and the error code. We can often pin down the fault at this stage – for networked chargers, even remotely.

  2. 2

    On-site troubleshooting

We inspect the charger, the supply and the protective devices, measure the grid and read out the charger’s log.

  3. 3

    Repair, part replacement

We source the part and fit it ourselves. For warranty faults, we also handle the manufacturer’s warranty.

  4. 4

    Commissioning and test charge

We update the software, configure the charger and run a test charge to make sure everything works.

What people usually ask about charger repair

Which charger brands do you repair?

We repair EV chargers of any brand: wall chargers, charging pedestals and portable chargers from BENY, EVBox, Wallbox, ABB, Tesla Wall Connector, Webasto, Zaptec, Easee, Alfen and other manufacturers. We’re the exclusive Hungarian distributor of BENY chargers and work as an independent service provider for other brands.

Where do you do charger repairs?

Anywhere in the country. We arrange the call-out based on the location and tell you what to expect before the repair.

How much does a charger repair cost?

The cost of a repair depends on the fault, the parts needed and the location, so we give you a custom quote. Over the phone we can often tell from the symptoms what repair may be needed, and we only do the work once you approve it.

What should I do if the charger trips the breaker or the RCD?

Don’t keep switching it back on. Tripping can be caused by a faulty charger, an overloaded supply or a faulty protective device – measurements will tell. If it trips because of the household’s consumption, dynamic load balancing solves it for good.

Is the fault under warranty?

If the charger is still under warranty, we handle the repair under the manufacturer’s warranty. It’s important that nobody else opens a charger under warranty: improper work on it can void the warranty.

Can the charger be repaired, or do I need a new one?

Most faults can be fixed: often replacing a protective device, the connector, the cable, a relay or the control board, or a software update does the job. If a repair isn’t worth it, we’ll tell you and recommend a suitable new charger instead.

How soon can you come out?

It depends on the location and our current workload – give us a call and we’ll tell you the earliest slot. If the fault can be fixed remotely or with help over the phone, no call-out is needed.

Do you also offer regular maintenance?

Yes. A regular inspection catches loose connections, damaged cables and faulty protective devices before they cause downtime. Details on the Charger maintenance page.

Is your charger faulty?

Call us, or write to us with the charger model, the symptom and the location – we’ll call you back and talk through the repair.
